The F-5 was i believe used in research in how to modify sonic booms so as to make them less pronounced.

Nice shots in the museum....was there a couple of years ago on holiday...it was March and they had their annual airshow. Saw the f-14 outside as it, and a few other airframes had been wheeled out for the show. Didn't actually go in the museum itself, but wish I had now! Hopefully going back next March, so will have to drag the family back....with ear-plugs so i can't hear the screaming that will accompany the kicking!

Funny you title this as above, this was my first Tomcat to. Isnt it a beut a real tom cruise moment for me as I had to at least kick the tyres, but alas I couldnt light the fires, I shall have to settle for our SHAR FA2 at NAM instead, but not a bad second,

Brilliant photos of a brilliant museum,

Dave Hibbert, NAM, Trustee. :thumb:  :D
