Canada has declined due operational reasons.

Lack of spare airframes to tie up for four days on the deck

Page one updated, with the above added and some other minor changes

On a sad note Breitling have now contacted the Air Tattoo to confirm that the Super Constellation 'Connie' will no longer be performing a flypast at RIAT 2012. This is due to a damaged engine that now has to be replaced. The Super Constellation is not expected to start flying again until August 2012. More information is given here. Note, however, that the Breitling Jet Team will still make an appearance in the flying display on both Saturday and Sunday.

Also have added some of the aircraft that are due to arrive listing their planned arrival dates.

Once again any additional information most welcome

Organisers of next week’s Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford have announced that one of the most popular and distinctive aircraft ever to appear at the airshow will be among almost 300 others taking part from around the world.

The US Air Force B-2 ‘Spirit’ stealth bomber, which last touched down at RAF Fairford for the airshow in 1999, will make a 10,000-mile round trip from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri to take pride of place within the Air Tattoo’s static aircraft park.

Therefore I have added this to the listing on page one.

The year show looks like its going to be a good one, considering the negative factors (i.e Afghanistan war, financial chaos in Europe).

The RIAT Team, have work hard, to provide a large range of interesting aircraft in these hard times... Well Done

Arrival of 1st aircraft for RIAT

Post by Simon J » Thu Jun 28, 2012 12:11 pm

Hi Guys,
Having got the week off prior to the show and staying with the other half in Kempsford I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of timings or days for when the first aircraft are due in? As there are a few heading are way I have my trusty pushbike, flask, sandwhiches and not forgetting my camera :)
