If I remember correctly ZR343 was originally destined for India. Could now be destined for Nigeria! :thumb:

The excellent people at ukserials.com have the Nigerian NAF280 as ZR344.
Also listed on their site is "ZR347 Cancelled IAF ZW-4310, for Azerbaijan as 4K-Ai010"

If PP is to be believed, ZZ385.
Navy Merlin was ZH860.

Thanks Malcolm

Thought it was a Navy one, with ZZ385 being at VL yesterday, although it was using the same c/s

Seen in the Yeovil Flt shed on Friday were the following export AW101:
Saudi Arabia - HMH-2
Nigeria - NAF 280 & NAF 281 both painted in Nigerian c/s
Italy - ZR354
India (cancelled) ZW-4306 eventual destination ?

Another AW101 in a white colour scheme was seen in building near main gate. Azerbaijan?

Cheers Bertie

Definitely not NAF 281 as it was still in pieces when I saw it.
Cannot remember if NAF 280 had blades on or not.
Saudi definitely was complete. Easy Identiier is that the Saudi aircraft are the only ones seen so far with a FLIR torrent in the nose.

Noted this morning inside westland Newquay hangar was
a Merlin. It looked to be one of the ex Indian ones.
Just had conformation from a mate that it's now parked out on there Pan with aircrew wondering around it?And that it'sand it is one of the ex Indian ones..its ZR343! So when did this one come back in?? And does anyone have an idea what the plan is for it??,

The Nigerian AW101s were originally scheduled to be delivered to the Indian Air Force, but the Indian contract was subsequently cancelled following allegations of bribery and corruption.

Think you'll find kyle Nigeria will get some of the unfinished/Uncompleted ex Indian ones. (Think at least one of them is for Azerbaijan?)
It seems now that maybe the above machine (ZR343 )
Might only be used as a crew trainer/demonstrater!
Maybe? !!

I doubt ZR343 will be sold to any foreign customer just yet. I think there are 5/6 Zero hour'ed aircraft, several of which weren't even painted at the time the Indian stop work order was given. It'll be these later aircraft that are flogged off. I wonder is ZR343 is going to be used as flight crew training for these new customers.

Did my eyes deceive me or did I just see a primer Merlin with nose ball heading EAST between Glastonbury and Wells at 10.50am ?

AW test flights rarely come this way.
