Re: Defence Spending
The carriers as others have said are a bit of a white elephant when operated by just the UK, but in the context of NATO Ops they're an asset although hamstrung a bit without the Cats & traps allowing other nations to operate fast air from them (Bar the USMC & any others with the F35B). The governmen...

Re: History’s Greatest Aircraft TV Series
S1 featured the Lanc, Spit & Mossie. S3 Includes the Hurricane & yes the F4 Phantom.
There's plenty of other nations aircraft in there as well.

Re: Canon R7 vs Canon 90D
I have the R7 having moved from a 7D2. Yes it has limitations but..... you need to be aware of them & set the camera accordingly. On many of the Social Media posts the main complainers are those that unbox the camera & expect it to turn them into the next photographer of the year. I extremely please...

Re: WT001 Wedgetail BHX
Hoping to see this. Is the multistorey in Terminal Road an NCP one? I can't see the NCP signs on Street view. It says Freeport. Anyway, I need to know how to pay please. IIRC it's quite expensive to park anywhere at the Airport. Would you not be better parking somewhere with views at the end of the...

They do practice on a regular basis.

I used the settings put up by Wild Alaska on Youtube as my initial baseline. I've also found that using Animal detection instead of Vehicle detection seems to work best for aircraft.

I vote they bring back the 'Base Security Team', (IIRC) catering offering with proceeds to Charity, Burgers wet or dry, American Pop, & great hot dogs.

I was there, Our Scout Group was asked to do litter/fod picking before the show, during the show & also on departure days. Had some very interesting experience's particularly once joe public left for the day. Even getting to see the delayed SR-71 departure on the Tuesday from very close quarters. Th...

Re: General Election Thursday 4th July 2024
So we have a new Govt. One of the things they mentioned was first on the agenda was a Defence Spending Review.
Is it time for a thread to speculate on it's outcome ? I don't think it'll be great.

Re: Camera Upgrade from Canon 70D
Late to the party here but I went 70d-7d2-R7 The R7 works perfectly with most EF lenses with just a couple of Caveats 1) Use a genuine canon EF-RF adapter (there's 3 available, I've heard of others on various forums who've had issues with 3rd party adapters. 2) This may be the elephant in the room h...

Maybe they could look at a Surplus A380
Obviously not though, but sure there's a few kicking about unloved.

As an enemy may also use them, they should come up with a solution, as terrorist may not take notice of any request not to use them. Plus it may not be appropriate to use cannons on them :-) P. They'd only do it the once though......... Strictly tongue in cheek comment On a more serious side is the...

Re: Lakenheath - nuclear store
I'm out I didn't say that the F35B could carry the B61 or the Typhoon, having the ability to store the weapons for AN Other NATO nation may prove useful. I'm fully aware that Ballistic Missile subs are our deterrent & have been since 1998. I agree they're more survivable than anything else. My point...

Re: Lakenheath - nuclear store
Agree at the moment we have nothing cleared but I'm sure in the event of needing to be certifed the process can be fast-tracked whereas if we don't have the storage it's a non-starter. I'm thinking more the US/NATO controlled weapons that various other NATO countries can carry if the need arises. I...

Did the 46's move from EGUN through anynof this? Also, anyone got the tails of the 7 x B1's which departed Lakenheath, as reported by numerous Arab sources ? They were the new & improved stealth B1 not only invisible to radar but also the naked eye & the biggest upgrade special silent engines...
