Ace or not?

If one of our pilots shot down 5 Iranian UAVs last night, would he/she be an ace, or is there a requirement for the target to be crewed?

Christchurch NZ 27 Feb 2006

How is this for a challenge? Could anyone identify the C130s at Christchurch on the above date? From memory not RNZAF but US on Antarctic duty. Thanks. Phil

Re: Top Guns Inside The RAF

Did I understand correctly that the station commander had not flown for 3 years and stepped straight into a single seat Typhoon? No twin stick or cheaper/slower craft as a first step?

Blue was a breeze. Didn't get body scanned but bag checked. Took 1 minute to get through around 8am.

Re: Kings birthday flypast practice

I'm considering a trip to London to see this with my sprog, as it's a pretty unique opportunity. Does anyone have any concrete info that it will be on the scale of the Coronation Flypast? British Gliding Association is currently my primary source. Also any recommendations for spots to get a good vi...

Re: Sky News - UK C-130 - A400 fleet

Given how loudand distinctive the A400 is when in flight, I doubt our special forces are looking forward to using it for HALO jumps into hot zones.

Re: Specific aircraft losses in current war

I just wanted to check whether the moderators have any concerns about live reporting, but as it appears that the A50 incident has been reported elsewhere, perhaps it is ok to identify the individual frame involved.

Specific aircraft losses in current war

Are we OK to post reported specific losses? If not, may I refer you to Denys Davidov’s youtube post regarding an A50 in Belarus.

Re: The Ukraine Situation

The press reports the possibility of F16s to Ukraine. Would it make sense instead / as well, to take A10s out of AMARG, as they must surely be easier to learn to operate, and they would make a real mess of Russian armour and artillery?
