Re: Electricity meter certificate expired

…on & on! Man with smart phone visited this week to take only electricity meter readings, not gas although both are supplied by BG. I had submitted readings two days before. An email received thanking me for the action He gave me a piece of paper with scribbled 0800 number and asked that I phone to ...

Re: Strategic Defence Review - 2025

Cottesmore’s runway had heavies making night landings last year or perhaps late 2023. Wittering was used more recently. This could be used without too much upgrade maybe. The road access via A1 would be a great benefit in emergency. Peterborough has the mainline rail connection. So Wittering upgrade...

Re: Electricity meter certificate expired

Update " ... Blah, Blah... your meter needs to be replaced before the end of June 2025..." email and letter. Panic? No, so why not submit current readings; make note of both meter unit reference numbers, do research for current situation? Smart meters can be set to be 'DUMB' according to two sites o...

Re: RAF Official DIO Holbeach AWR website

Thread drift I know but for the record, no, Walpole Suffolk is in the east of the county and nowhere near Fenland. Your Walpole is probably the one I remember, near the coast? Lowestoft way - ish? Fenland is now the remains of the old RAF Sutton Bridge. The Fens might not extend over to Suffolk. ht...

Re: F1 2025

Of absolutely no importance to anyone, as a part of my engineering apprenticeship I spent two days hands-on in the workshops at Bourne. As a result was later a Gofer in race control at Silverstone. Few people can say that they have driven a tuned Minivan on the circuit, only part of it and Not on a ...

Re: Donna Nook range closed for lack of staff

It would make economic sense to increase the use of Holbeach. That said, i have to declare an interest in increased traffic.

Of course, DN has a SEAL detachment based there during the late autumn. Gra/ey ones not Navy.

It's alleged that it's less 'legged it' and more 'leg over it', and with a subordinate no less. :O

Oh the humanity!
As 1SL it would have to be with a subordinate.
One night in the wardroom of HMS Victory I had an encounter with a Wren officer who was above me… in rank!
