Re: News on flying displays

Even in good weather the flight programme changes; aircraft serviceability issues, can't find the pilot, pilot can't find the keys etc., so the souvenir programme is pretty useless - not even any good for loo paper. The commentary team try and keep up but often have no clue either. It's a bit of a l...

Re: Townsend Farm

Hi Chris, that's very friendly of you. Was going to stay but I'm on my bike instead of in my van so not camping.

Hope all goes well for you.

Re: Weather Warning

Looking forward to riding a 180 mile round trip in the wet on Sat & Sun with nowhere to dry off or shelter when you get there. So staying wet all day and riding home wet - lovely.

At least it might dissuade a few people from turning up!

Re: FRIAT - what is it and is it worth it?

Thanks for all the comments - I've tried a few of the options available in the past (grandstand, viewing village, Pimms bar etc) but none really work for me as I'm usually on my own and if I find a good table at say the Pimms viewing area I have to grab my gear and leave it if I want food or the loo...

FRIAT - what is it and is it worth it?

As per the heading - any advantage? (notwithstanding the price of course)

Re: Canon fit lens for static displays?

I'm a cheapskate - use a Canon 17 to 55mm f3.5 on my D7 Mk II. Works fine for me on statics and general 'people/ urban' shots, musueums etc - cheap so not bothered if it gets knocked about. (Also use a 55 to 250mm f5.6 to cover a longer range and a new 150 - 600 Sigma (bought 2019 for the cancelled ...

Re: Tips for newby to RIAT

Sorry can't comment re camping - was camping for the first time this year but had to cancel. Take sunscreen, water, a hat and earplugs - sorry if you do this already. The static opens at 07.30 but as there are three entrances opening at the same time only a small area near you will be 'people free' ...

Newbie RIAT Question

Hi, I'm new here so thought I'd say 'Hello!' Just an observation, but judging by the fabulous photos in the photo section for RIAT 2014, all the better shots (IMHO) seem to have been taken from within the FRIAT enclosure. - Seems a trifle unfair to those unable to fork out the fat fee (IMHO). Why sh...
