Yorkshire Wildlife Park - and a wild visitor
Visited the YWP on Saturday and caught up on the Cheetah cubs (see later) who are growing up fast. There is a small lake at the front of their enclosure which is fenced off to keep the Cheetahs out and I was very pleasantly surprised to see this Kingfisher perched on a bullrush. Even with the 150-60...

Re: A busy two days at Tanker Town
Great selection. Out of interest, were the two NATO E3A shots (15 & 16) taken on the same approach - I suspect not. First one appears normal, but the second shows the main gear doors open suggesting an emergency/freefall lowering of the gear, which is already down on the first shot with no doors vis...

Buccaneer Day
A few pictures taken at the Yorkshire Air Museum during a special day/night shoot on the 6th April to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Buccaneer's retirement. The museums three airframes XN974, XX901 and XV168 were all given an airing, of what is now the largest number of Buccaneers in one loca...

Happiness is Vectored Thrust...
.... as proclaimed by the old publicity stickers from Hawker Siddeley. Whilst they are currently engineless and therefore only static, thanks to the RAF Wittering Heritage Hangar and COAP, here are a few shots from the recent COAP photoshoot at RAF Wittering that will hopefully bring back a few memo...

Re: Red Arrows in Turmoil ?
It's not just a few airframe jigs, which are still there, but all the other components from engine and seats down to the smaller systems items, particularly the avionics many of which are no longer produced due to obsolescence. Look at the problems automotive manufacturers are having due to chip sho...

Re: Humber Bridge Sunset
Was it taken from the Car Park viewing area, or beyond the Rope Building at the edge of the estuary (Waters edge Country Park)? Just in front of the Waters Edge building on the walkway. As it coincided with high tide, the inlet (that goes down to the ropeworks) had filled giving a foreground of wat...

Humber Bridge Sunset
As the title implies, a sunset shot last night of the Humber Bridge from Barton on the South bank. Just the right combination of decent weather/cloud details, a high tide and sunset all coinciding.

Little Owl (but no Tiger)
A couple of shots of a Little Owl, one of a pair that is nesting in a tree in the Tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park - probably a very good place to avoid egg hunters !! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51991889427_5bbec5a9c5_h.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51992947983_80a0d9343...

Night Shoot - Add Aircraft and Sky in the Right Proportions ** More ingredients added **
Threshold Aero finally held their previously cancelled and rescheduled night shoot at RAF Cosford. Featured were six camouflaged Jaguars in the revetment area, a Harrier GR3, Sea Harrier FRS2, Hawk TMk1, Jet Provost and the star, Tornado GR1 ZA320. It's positioning took advantage of a stunning night...
