Re: Alleged UFO or UAP, 1990, Calvine, Scotland

Having seen the artist's impression of the alleged incident my immediate thought was that the likely explanation would be an F-117 in a banked turn being followed by an A-7 with the F-117 being nearer the position of the witness and perspective and excitement turned the sighting into a UFO event. Th...

Re: MC-130J Float plane, what next!

Lockheed had proposed an amphibious version of the C-130 in the mid-1960s, it looked quite good, a lot like a large Grumman Albatros rather than a Hercules with floats bolts to it!

The air displays at Brands Hatch were quite good from what I can recall. Perhaps someone might have a full line up of participants of th...

Re: Litter amongst other things.

Just driven past the Saxon Air facility at Norwich Airport and the place is awash with McDonald's litter blowing about, looks like the aftermath of a music festival. Sadly, this is a problem that seems to be getting worse around airfields.

Re: Your first ever military spotting trip, where, when etc?

My first spotting trips were during the summer of 1984 when my dad took me to RAF Upper Heyford, followed quite quickly by a visit to RAF Bentwaters a couple of weeks later, both being more than enough excitement for a 10 year old boy!
