No Flying at Marham 2025 Friends & Families Day

Have been told that this year's Marham Families Day will not have any flying or static displays. The event will be stalls only, to be held in what is normally the Families Day car park. :(
Well, at least we won't have to queue for that!

Typhoons and their tusks!

Me 'n' her cycled up the white lane track towards the end of 06 today to see what might be happening and were lucky enough to see a four F35 touch and go's. The the same with a Typhoon and then a full quick climb - practice for the forthcoming Friends and Family day? I was asked to differentiate bet...

Re: Canon EF lens hoods

Following this thread and having just replaced my (pattern-part) EF-S 17/55 hood for a genuine Canon (£30 - Amazon), I can say I'm glad I spent the extra money. Fuzzy inside so no glare and it clips firmly on and off. No more discovering it's slipped after the event and spoilt my pics.

Two hours drive from EGUN is Coningsby where there's the chance of some action and a guided tour around the BBMF is exceptional.

Lol, we possibly met - we were the two 'cheats' on e-bikes.

Certainly a superb day out - with a bit of luck it will be run again next year.

Hope to see you then!

Organised Cycle Rides inside Marham Base (RAFA Rides)

My better half discovered this series of organised cycle rides within the airbase on Sunday 4th of June. It might be a chance for what is today, a rare view of inside RAF Marham. If you have an electric bike, it might even be possible for those who are not so fit anymore! Date: Sunday 4 June 2023 Lo...

Re: Busy April on the railways.

Hi Pete

We caught The Great Britain XV on day 8 at Welney and again, very close up and thundering past on day 9 at Ten Mile Bank. Wonderful!

Is there a good forum that you can recommend to discover other occurrences of these marvellous machines?

Thanks in advance

That's the problem you get with a man and a bear deciding to zoom right up close to everyone and whatever they are doing. Stupid, really.

As rain has just put pay to a walk, just out of curiosity, in this thread title, why use the word ‘scrambles ’ ?

Did the orders for take-off get muddled?
As the thread author only ever regurgitates laughable Chinese propaganda, perhaps English is not their first language. :P

Re: plane crashes near Binbrook

Many thanks for quick application. I am looking for possible crashes in the binbrook area of Lincolnshire. Although i am mainly looking at bombers my father saw many crash sites during ww2 and beyond. One of these was the 1952 canberra crash near Binbrook. I am told one plane crash during ww2 may h...

Re: F15s Showing their age ! !

I imagine a lot of it will be Avionics and other Electrical systems, over time things like Capacitors dry out and the more delicate components succumb to the 1000s of hours of vibration. Anything from original build that's still present will be well tired now If it moves, or it gets hot, it goes wr...

what is lfa11 It's Low Flying Area 11 which is largely east Yorkshire. I'm not exactly sure that this is what the question was about though as I assume they meant based squadrons, not anything flying over Yorkshire. I wonder why this hobby attracts such a high proportion of the socially inept. Ther...

Yes, Photoshop is now only on subscription, but the cut-down and very capable Photoshop Elements is not and is available as a one-off purchase.

Ah ok, thanks for that.
