Re: My Take on 2024
Nice - Work a four letter word ending in 'k' that gets in the way of spotting! I really like the hangar shots - great access 97-0218 went on deployment to the desert and returned as Tabor 86 with Poseidon nose art Thank you sir  Yeah being in the hangar was a great opportunity that I couldn...

My Take on 2024
2024 was certainly a quieter year photo wise due to the new job and lack of chances to get out and about, something I'll look to change in 25. Anyway, enjoy my couple visits down to Lakenheath starting with being a guest of 492FGS at the first DCC quarter of the year back in February. Spoiler, BLUE ...

Re: RAF to get F35A ?
If we were to have a different version, surely the F35C, with probe and drogue refuelling, would make sense? Why? The carriers are fitted for cat and trap ops. Whilst the Navy are exploring the possibility of a cats and traps retrofit, the QEC carriers don’t have them as of now. I remember a news a...

Re: Help with callsigns & serial tie ups.
Hello all, Working on a bit of a project and was wondering if anyone has any logs for a few particular days that I will detail below. I have the serials and the dates/times but I'm looking for the callsigns to complete the notes for them. All are 495th FS 16 Nov 2022 landed around 15:48 Tail 20-557...

Re: Help with callsigns & serial tie ups.
I have the 28th Feb 2023 flight narrowed down to one of two flights being the following thanks to a photo I took just after 1430. And thanks to Glencoe for that particular days movements post. 1426 CTL ?? F-35A (495th FS) HOOK 01 1428 CTL ?? F-35A (495th FS) HOOK 02 1429 CTL ?? F-35A (495th FS) HOOK...

Re: Google Earth F15's
The shelter ones tend to be more for doing maintenance but of course some will launch from them.Andy Marden wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2024 12:40 pmThe two mentioned ramps don't have enough room for all of the Lakenheath fleet, so clearly some of them are parked in shelters.
It's just much easier to operate from a flightline.

Re: Google Earth F15's
F-15Es normally park on the two ramps from my (albeit limited) experience, I wonder if the sun shelters were still being built so both squadrons were displaced onto one ramp. Otherwise it just looks like a normal day of possibly 06 ops to me, with a visitor in! They moved to the ramp just in front ...

Re: Google Earth F15's
Just been looking at the current image of Lakenheath, which is dated13.06.2023 and it shows a line-up of 31 F15's on the South ramp. Seems unusual to me as I thought that they are normally in their HAS's. Also a C17 on the North side plus 5 f35's and two f15's on the taxiways. Was this some special...

Re: B1 Deployment Patches (10/2023)
48 MXO do a yearly spotters patch and 492nd FS did one back in 2022 I think but it was a very small run of them.

Re: 48FW F-35A delivery summary (41 as at 11/08/2023)
I think that would take the total to 48, so maybe another 6 to come after these? 495 should have 26 when their last couple arrive so I presume 493rd will have the same eventually. So 54 in total as mentioned in Norville's post above. If TR-3 gets sorted they should all have been delivered by the en...

Absolutely fantastic work there Chris.
It's on my bucket list just to make a trip to Alaska one day purely just for the F-16 aggressors and a trip to go Hornet aggressor hunting too.
