Re: What just went over?

All I can say is I looked at the Edinburgh Airport "On The Ground" Section on FR24 and it was mentioned on there and that made me think it had landed - mind you FR24 has been known for errors in the past. They don't normally list Practice Diversions. That function in FR24 is clearly automated and f...

Re: Park and View never again

I was at P&V East on Monday from about 0930 - we had been to the show on the Sunday so didn't feel the need to be there for the very first departures. Maybe we were just fortunate with the spot we picked, but for the first time ever on the Departures day, we found ourselves close to the fence facing...

Hardly, RIAT is about to start.
Sure, but that is quite time-limited in comparison to a runway rehabilitation project that will take months. If the proverbial balloon went up, RIAT would be in trouble, but I wasn't suggesting that anything is imminent anyway.

2026 is the correct date it's being pushed back for as long as it can. Aircraft are to be dispersed around the country. Not sure why they can't use fairford again?
Maybe Fairford needs to be "protected" in view of the current tense international situation.

The information is wrong and you are correct. My contact mixed his days and types up as a VH60 arrived today, 8th. A C5 had been planned to visit but in the end didn't.

Thanks and regards.

Steve.
Thanks for that. Hard to keep track of all the multiple movements north and south!

Re: Why do US military (generally) avoid overflying Belgian airspace?

They (mostly) avoid the Republic of Ireland's airspace as well. Yes, unfortunately. What was fine during the Cold War (memories of streams of Reforger exercise C-141 traffic) attracted much more public and political attention in more recent times, and now AMC flights almost invariably avoid Irish s...

I suppose we will see many of the world leaders coming to pay respects to her late majesty. Will this also include Mr Putin, I wonder?
Would he be welcome?
It has been widely reported that he is not attending.
