No fixed wing will be operating from Shawbury for Cosford show 2025 either !

They haven't checked for car park passes previously, but when I bought a few tickets last week I'd forgot to add car park pass, I emailed them and they added it within the next hour !

DHFS was disbanded a long time ago its now 1 FTS so just a 1 FTS badge on rear fuselage

Seeing aircrew patches don't help as they sometimes fly other Sqns sorties, even knowing their callsigns sometimes doesn't help/

OK the Sqns use all helis with no division, Jupiters look bigger than Juno's but also the Jupiters are numbered ZM496-ZM502, Juno's are numbered ZM504-ZM532. Both types have the last 2 of the serial on the tail(both sides) and on the nose. But at least 4 Jupiters are flown at Valley, Juno's only go ...

What does't help is the manpower/personpower, downsizing and replacing service persons with contractors as airshows aren't part of a contractors contract !
Not complaining as I was in the same position but its the way it is now.

Last year a 'professional' security person searched my bag with a drumstick ! I thought it was a modern metal detector but no he had a poke around with a drumstick ! And we got told to stand in the no bag queue when we had bags !

No external tanks at all, most sorties only lasted 1 hour 20 - 1 hour 35ish
And their guns were stored in a big room in the bomb dump, remember seeing them all lined up !

Best 3 years of my 12 years in the RAF, was so sad when I was posted, still mates with at least 10 people from there and I left in 1989 !!

Remember the rain started to make one of the Blue Canberra's paint run ! and as my mate was Runway controller I was down the caravan getting pics but while looking through my view finder Roly's Canberra wing tip nearly hit my head, that would have been an injury to talk about ! If I had survived !!
