Re: Prestwick to host Voyager fleet (Brize Runway works)
Probable hangar space available at Marshalls, Cambridge, if the MOD are prepared to book it, think the big Tristar hangar is only used for C-130 maintenance / storage. However Marshalls are planning new facilities at Cranfield and Cambridge airport will be closing for, surprise surprise housing, an...

The large hangar at Boscombe Down would also be big enough.

If you turn up at 10am it may take a long time stuck in traffic queues waiting to get in.

Re: Security and activity
The new signs are most probably to do with the National Security Act 2024. It is an now offence to photograph or video military installations from public land, it previously wasn't, but I wouldn't worry for aviation photographers as it's to do with potential hostile reconnaissance and 'auditors.' P...

Re: Strategic Defence Review - 2025
I'm surprised there's not been any conversation on recommendation 48 of the SDR which to me reads that the RAF/ government should establish a commercial alternative to Brize, so presumably a formalised alternative at an existing UK airport such as Manchester, Stansted, Gatwick? And what about the h...

Re: Strategic Defence Review - 2025
Can an F-35A actually do anything useful range wise? Would probably need to be based in Eastern Poland to bomb Moscow. Don't count on any tanker support. Range issues depends on use, unlikely to “bomb Moscow” as we would all be already dead in that scenario (we also have Trident for long range). F-...

Re: LN Strike Eagles going home
Are Lakenheath getting the F15EX ? There was talk a while back of Lakenheath going to 4 F-35A squadrons, sounds like that is no onger the case? SJ are taking on the F-15EX training role for the ANG and Kadena using the F-15E so they may need more, and as already mentioned the USAF had plans to reti...
