It was great to catch RAVN Aerospace (ex RoKAF) Hawk Mk.67 departing RAF Lakenheath yesterday (09/01/24) on an adversary sortie in some decent light! Thanks for the reply Gary, I didn't intend to take chairs on the sat/sun, but more so just for the Spotters day (with a small step ladder on all 3 days if its possible) weather does look great, very much looking forward to it!

The reason it was closed because they have now added Concertina wire (similar to the one at Johns field) along a majority of the fence line on that side. I'm unsure if it has reached round the mound yet. There is still a gap between the wire and fence for photographers with ladders.

Unfortunately doesn’t seem like there’s much room for any photographers/spotters. Anyone familiar with the area or?
