My choice would be a Canon 300mm F2.8 mkII with a Canon MK III converter 2.0X or 1.4x, yes I know before all the comments about the converters aren't great, they have worked very well for me and give great flexibility. 600mm with one of Canon's best lenses. 400mm is another cracker.
