Re: F & F Day 5/8/17
Agreed , shutting the roads is a bit much . It's a small air display which, private or not , attracts attention from aviation enthusiasts and the general public and has resulted in past years , in large crowds gathered at various vantage points just as with any public airshow so I reckon the legal b...

Re: F & F Day 5/8/17
In fairness it's not the RAF's fault . The Shoreham disaster has made life very awkward for the airshow scene . The CAA have brought in guidelines and the organisers have to consider their liability should anything go wrong . Elf n' Safety gone mad but that's the way it is.

Re: F & F Day 5/8/17
Looks like the Fun Police are clamping down on outsiders watching the Families Day flying within the Typhoon a/c display area which appears to rule out anywhere near the airfield . A notice appears in the RAF Lossiemouth FB page . Maybe this is standard practice but I don't recall seeing similar not...

Re: XV(R) Disbandment Date
The only airfield attacks I've seen saw one in from the sea - I was on the East side of 23 end - couldn't see him till the tip of a fin popped up over the trees , he passed to the East of the runway closer to the tower area . Two others came from the 05 end prettty much down the runway. Also seen th...

Week 2 JW 14-2
Monday looks good weatherwise - any know if it will be a normal flying day for Joint Warrior ? I seem to recall that they sometimes have down days for briefing / planning etc in some intensive exercises. ?

Re: Lowdown 2001 (book)
As far as I know it's just a straightforward CD so should run on Windows . Never had any problem with mine but it's a few years since I last ran it. Yep - just dug it out " Lowdown 2001 ) out and the earlier one just "Lowdown". Both ran the MPEGs on my Windows Vista computer . Thanks for the reminde...
