Re: Strategic Defence Review - 2025

Very slow progress in purchase of F-35s then. I was hoping they could order some as quickly as Thatcher got the F-4Js; a reopening of Honington with a couple of new squadrons of F-35As perhaps. But no. Not even an order for more P-8s. Any chance of a few hundred thousand drones like the ones Ukrain...

Re: Anatolian Eagle 2025

All we need now is a participant list….. Speaking to the Turkish Public Affairs guys last week in Konya, they said the participants list is realised by the Turkish MOD now and they will only post around 2 days before the event. He said from memory Pakistan, Qatar, Jordan and could not remember the ...

With regard to the Shadow is 2030 the date by which they want all aircraft upgraded to R2/R2+ etc or is it an OSD for the type itself?
R2 is not happening
Can you clarify that, has it been cancelled?

Hawk T2 won't make 2040, Chief of Air Staff wants it gone long before then.

Will be 617 Sqn and 809 NAS deploying, the big question is how many jets will actually go.

Have these people had any explanation from the DHS about why their ESTA has been invalidated? Out of interest were they making base visits or claiming to work for a magazine?

Important to mention that the Colombians have now formally selected the Gripen E as the Kfir replacement.

Re: Iniochos - the Greeks

Excellent set, great a/c, great backdrop, great weather and all well taken. Can’t believe you say that people were complaining. Do people not realise it’s a live exercise and not an airshow. Hopefully those that complain find somewhere else to go and let those that appreciate the lengths the HAF go...

Re: NATO Tiger Meet 2025 - Beja Portugal

During a visit to Beja two weeks ago it was mentioned there would be no Spotters Day but a single open day for the public, but this was still subject to change. Very unusual for a Tiger Meet, but perhaps a sign of the times.

Does anyone know which base the Turkish KC135 arrived from yesterday.

Many thanks for any help.
Came from Incirlik, the homebase for 101 Filo.

With all the spy satellite's from foreign powers this would have been known about from first flight
They probably know when the next foreign surveillance satellite is going to pass by, and a satellite image wouldn't tell you much about the aircraft anyway.

Next Generation Air Dominance - Contract Award Today

Worth keeping an eye on today will be the contract award for the USAF's next fighter, to be produced under the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) programme. Will it be Boeing, Lockheed Martin or Sukhoi?

This is not true. Saab’s head of marketing and sales has stated that all permissions are in place, if Colombia decides to buy Gripen E, which it hasn’t.

Re: New Spanish EF2000s

Gando will get Tranche 1s, which are a major improvement on the old EF-18A+s, and primarily roled with air defence. It helps Spain to be rid of the oldest EF-18s first of the 70-ish it flies currently. I believe Albacete will get the Tranche 4s first. No point putting your most advanced Eurofighters...

AFS Yelahanka and Aero-India 2025

Some snaps of the various support flights which supported this year's Aero-India Airshow here at the beginning of February. Yelahanka is usually home to a An-32, Dornier 228 and Mi-17 training unit, but every couple of years it gets transformed into a showcase for India's aerospace industry and thos...
