Re: FRIAT 2024
The notes from the FRIAT forum was sent through today, nothing exciting in there I think the loss of the separate and early entrance for FRIAT members is a blow. The issue seems to be based on the new laws following the Manchester Arena bombing. Apparently it's an issue for the police but DBH appea...

Re: '70s Carrier shots - Probably from Ark Royal
Having checked Color and Markings volume 9, A-7E Corsair 2 - Post Vietnam Atlantic Coast units, I am fairly sure the A-7 is from either VA-46 (Clansmen) or VA-72 (Blue Hawks). I suspect the former given the red on the fin tip and lack of hawk marking on the fin - which VA-72 used.

I wonder if there is a link to the Mildenhall NOTAM later in the day? Same team practicing in different places?

Re: Fairford RIAT 1999
Great memories, thanks for posting. The B-2 was parked at the western end behind two banks of barbed wire and armed guards. Then the one due from USA to display was cancelled and it was decided to fly the static a/c; away came the wire and the guards, tractor hooked up, British police inspector aski...

Maybe the driver thought he needed the car version of a lifeboat.

Re: Boy, 11, found driving BMW towing caravan on M1
When searched, the car had a number of false plates, so not an isolated incident.
Unfortunately there a communities within our society who believe the normal rules of society don’t apply to them. Then claim discrimination when the police, tax man and local authorities try to apply the rules.

I think it’s “are upgrading gradually “ rather than “have”.

Re: St.Mawgan International Air Day: 6th August 1975 (Pic. Heavy)
OK, this is a bit off thread but my obsession with Phantoms led me to wanting to get the idea that the dodgy green on those Tooms wasn't a camo experiment so I did some checking with fellow modellers. This photo shows a stateside based one (at Luke AFB) - and gives the explanation. https://www.airli...

Re: St.Mawgan International Air Day: 6th August 1975 (Pic. Heavy)
The green replacing the tan was the start of the 'European one' camo scheme, the lighter green being replaced later with a dark green. Disagree with that. First, in Euro 1 (lizard) the tan was replaced by a dark gray ( and that’s another story) not green; second, that green was seen on only a few a...

Agree with paras. 2,3 & 4.
However, para 1 would be unprofessional behaviour which could impact the performance of the team and would, at least, be worthy of a final warning - for both parties. (Which isn’t to say it doesn’t happen, probably quite a lot)

Interesting report on Today (Radio 4) this morning, with more detail on the BBC News business website, that there are significant differences, for otherwise identical quotes, between areas with different levels of ethnic diversity. This despite no differences in accident levels.

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2024 General Discussion Thread
First, you don’t know what is and isn’t flying; even the planners in DBH won’t yet.
Second, DBH can ask and ask and ask but ultimately can only put in the flying display that for which they have permission.

Samsung galaxy a34. Does all I need.bought outright from curry’s who helped me set it all up. Contract with talkmobile for £5 a month.
But I am 66 and not surgically attached to the phone, don’t wish to be checking texts 24 hours a day and know how to use a map.
