They should just build a dedicated aew helicopter platform (changeout when needed) and then a medium lift raf/aac capability transport helicopter with a 30+ year lifespan to complement the enormous amount of transport chinooks we have. 160 Typhoons (B61 capable), 100 F-35B’s and 100 tempest. Under the right (wrong) atmospheric conditions do the Dragon Lady's trail the same as other jets? Could this show their position whilst trying to remain out of sight.? Appears so, have a photo here of one over Doncaster at 60,000 with a very long trail and a U2 at the end of it. Taken at lunchtime ...

It’s Ott here everyday, heard but not spotted, even with spotting scope and telescope, which Iv seen a Voyager over mid Peak District at 17,000ft with, but no U2. 😂 Think the contrails come with humidity, as green on this map (instant weather maps.com humidity chart) is contrail potential apparently...
