Hi all,

Drove past salmesbury today on preston new road and noticed an airframe under a tarpaulin on the airfield by the looks of it. Any ideas? Or do I need more sleep and specsavers

** went for a closer look today and looks like 2 airframes one under a tarpaulin and a tornado fuselage.

the airframes are:

ZA328 - Tornado GR1
ZK533 - Hawk Mk.53

Both stored outside since at least September.

Preston new Road. Off m6 heading east. Head to Blackburn. Keeping right at the hotel. Follow road past an Indian restaurant and theres an industrial estate turning on the left. Go left and come into view on the left.

Thanks Apache 123, hopefully I will get up there after the restrictions have been lifted

The Hawk outside with the Tornado is not ZK533. This is visible through glass windows at the school around the corner.

Only candidates I can think of is ZK532?
Or maybe ZJ100 or ZJ951 earlier test ones?

Any ideas?

Which school is it that you mention for ZK533? Is it the Academy for Skills and Knowledge (ASK) on the Samlesbury site as per Google Maps?

Sorry....as a follow up question, you mention it is visible through windows. If it is the ASK facility, are these windows on the 'public' side so to speak? Or do you need access to the BAE site?

I work in Preston not far from Samlesbury so could always make a quick detour....

It is at the school on the public side of Sir Fredericks Way.

Sorry to bother you all again. Is Tornado ZA328 still outside and if so, do you go past the main gate with the “dummy” Lightning’s and take the next right to view it.

Coming from the m6 follow it to the right towards salmesbury and at the hotel on your left and follow it until the traffic lights of the industrial estate and turn left. If u pass kfc on your right you have gone to far
