Can someone explain to me why most, or possibly all, of the threads in this sub-section are in the wrong place please?

Surely info about Cardiff should have been posted in the 'West England & Wales' sub-section, stuff about Lee-on-Solent, Farnborough, Gatwick, Heathrow etc. in the 'Southern England' sub-section, Newcastle in the 'Northern England' section, and so on.......

Moving 1,800 individual threads is a very time-consuming and massive task for the Staff to do, so is there any chance of posting in the appropriate section from now on please?

The other sections seem to cover the whole the UK. So why not just get rid of this section then nothing will be in the wrong place?

I'd love to see the whole thing disappear but it needs a member of Admin to delete, or lock it.

I asked this ages ago and apparently we weren't meant to use the "area" sections...and stuff should be posted here. Never understood that one.

Eh?!!! I think you've misinterpreted what you were told surely? The description of this sub-forum on the index page says :- Please post movements and activity at any other location not specified above which handles military movements within the United Kingdom.

Nope! I had some Manchester threads moved from NW to here (though I think they were eventually moved back)

If each "area" section as well as having the listed bases also had "other" then that would cover it? If something turns up in East Anglia for example that does not fit Mildenhall/Lakenheath etc then it can just be put in "other" for East Anglia at least then it's in the correct part of the country. Just a thought.

If you look at the East Anglia section, scroll down and you'll see 278 topics/threads underneath the listed main bases :- viewforum.php?f=47

Do we really need another section in every area called 'Other'?

A bit like Mildenhall and Lakenheath movements appearing in the "UK Heads Up, Movements & OTT", not Lakenheath or Mildenhall. Then again its mostley moderators that do it :-)

Because movements should be in heads up & ott. News and logs should be in the airfield sections. This has been the case and perfectly fine for everywhere other than Fairford for many years

May I refer you to the forum header for Serials and Airfield Logs, which states for Lakenheath:-

"Please post movements and activities to do with RAF Lakenheath here"

That's a different argument altogether and nothing to do with this thread.
