AIR.file

Just a question before i balls something up, are you able to rename and switch an AIR file to make one aircraft behave like another (ie the donor) or is it a lot more involved? :S I have the Alphasim SeaKing which behaves very accurately for a heli of that size, and i also have the Alphasim Merlin which flies like a dog - always chases its tail! Its like trying to balance a ball-bearing on a dinner plate. Completely unstable, i have not altered the setting between either aircraft, but if that is how its made to fly, i want to make it behave more like the SeaKing.
Anybody ever switched airfiles? or is it a combination of airfile switch and going into the cfg file and mimicking some of the settings in there also. Your thoughts on this much appreciated!

Gary.

Doing stuff like that is a bitch Gary, some stuff you can leave intact and other stuff you can't and will need to change to mimick the original cfg file. It really depends on the aircraft in question. Contact points, COG, weights etc can be different from developer to developer even for the same aircraft.

Be prepared for lots of swearing and late nights if it does all go wrong - I spent far too long failing to get the UKMIL C17 to fly right when it was in development and then Gaffer went and did it in about 2 days flat.... :S

Have you tried the UKMIL Merlin as an alternative?

ukmil is already in the hangar!! thats a peach - but trying others as well. quite like the 'pit in the alphasim one, fairly accurate rendition (i used to see a lot of them at westlands when i worked there, ive also sat in most of the uk apaches!!).
my prob is if i see something i know isnt right , i gotta sort it somehow! and the alphasim bird is a **** to fly. Hence it now has my attention! :P
