there is no difference, acceleration is simply FSX plus some addons, and it's location on the PC is the same. Downloads are the same and go in the same place.

Look at the file structure, is the aircraft that you 'installed' actually in the "simobjects" folder? Find the aircraft and look at the cfg file, there may be a clue as to why it isnt showing in there.
Also, some FS9 aircraft will not work in FSX....

Find the aircraft itself (it will be in the simobjects folder. . .hopefully!), and look within the folder, there will be folders named "panel", "sound", etc etc. But also a file called "aircraft.cfg" that can be opened with notepad. THATS the cfg file. Open that, and look for errors that could prevent the aircraft from showing. Or, if you dont know what you may be looking for, copy the cfg file (open it, highlight it all, right click, copy) and copy the contents into a reply on this thread and ill have a look. Also can you let me know what the aircraft is, where you got it etc so i can download it and compare.

You download the aircraft, then extract the files to your documents, or whatever file you use. Then you copy the folder with the aircraft textures etc in it to your SimObjects folder.

I always extract to desktop - that way I definately know what's been extracted.
files on their own go in the root folder (microsoft games/fsx/)
Files in a folder named Panel/Simobjects/Guages etc get opened and the contents copied and pasted in the folder in the games files..(fsx/guages/)
The only one to watch is the Effects folder as that may well contain a sub-folder Texture which needs the above process applied to that too.
If you're not careful you'll end up with a heap of files in the wrong folders and may even duplicate a folder if youre not careful.
