Reds Transit height / formation

Post by Chaos » Sun Jul 03, 2022 10:35 am

I see there is a transit a few miles away from me today as the reds fly back home from brize and was thinking of going to see if I can get under the flight path somewhere which would be 35 miles from Scampton.
My question is how high are they likely to be flying and would they be in formation.

The NOTAM says between 250 and 2000ft above ground level.

They might be in formation, some times they transit in smaller groups a few minutes apart, depends on weather etc

Thank you.
The weather is looking good for today and 2000ft or under sounds great. Was looking at heading between the point number 4 and Waltham on the Wolds on this transit map. https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mi ... 16528&z=10

You can always look here for the Reds NOTAMS https://www.military-airshows.co.uk/pre ... le2022.htm
Next Saturday’s are already up.

Remember they don't fly exactly as per the notam, i.e. not straight lines or over the listen points exactly.

Thanks EGVP and Tornado17.
I realise that it would be a bit hit and miss and a bit of luck trying to get under them but that line is all I have to go by.
The military air shows website is what I have been looking at.
