Actually, I seem to recall a story doing the rounds last year that they might be looking at relocating Gibson`s dog to 617 Squadron`s current base at RAF Marham. Has anyone else heard any more about this or is it just BS?

Marham heritage haven't heard a thing about that and I'd have thought they would've.

Hi all,
My latest insider information on Scampton refugee accommodation is that :- The intension is after evaluation of existing on site barracks and the like. That pre-built living units will be put down on the old main runway as and when required to keep up with refugee arrivals. Whether these will be porta cabíns or the like my source was not privy to that level of detail. I had reason to meet one actervist and her husband from Sturton on Stowe. These extreamly nice and reasonable people are pretty peed off with the lack of consultation by both Lincoln Council and the MOD towards the local Scampton surrounding residents !

Why is that? Can you explain? The site will be reused for other purposes, probably long term a new housing estate. Not sure why the current temporary proposed use is an issue..

So what is your answer then? The history is still there no matter what is is used for. Woodford has a massive past history as the home of the Lancaster and Vulcan (any many more types) but now its a Redrow housing estate... things change and we move on.

Perhaps you can re-open all the WW2 airfields that were used for exactly the same purpose. Oh wait some have returned to farmland, other industrial estates, or housing Like Skellingthorpe...

Just because of one Squadron, everyone thinks it should be a special case. Didn't work for 617 Sqns base at Woodhall Spa. Aside from that, Once the MoD locks the gates.... What did you expect ? Fortunately someone came forward with a plan and WLDC is challenging the Home Office via the Courts

And by the way, yes, I am from Lincolnshire.
