Hey everyone, hope your all well.

Just wondered I'm in the area tomorrow and wondered is there a way if finding the REDS planned practise times?

Hi,

As the Reds have completed PDA they no longer practice daily. They have only been up this week on Monday for the flypast over Edinburgh. I don't think the bird strike jet has been recovered yet either. Last week they flew local solo sorties Tuesday and Wednesday. Week before that I was away so not sure if they went up
I think they need to practice every 14 days or so to stay current, so potentially they could be up today, tomorrow or Friday, but today has the best weather. As for times, depends how many times they plan to go up. Previous times have been around 9.30 and 12.00 if going up twice.

Probably not exactly what you were hoping for, but hope it helps a little.

Mike

The Reds are up now, not sure on how many - coms on 262.7 suggests not a full compliment.

Edit: now got coms on 243.450 and checking in with Waddo 125.35, sound like the full display.

Full 9 ship seen. Probably scuppers you for tomorrow!

Soooo I got confused.

They were on 242.60 this morning.......

262.75 is indeed an ops/air to ground Freq and has been used by 14sqd a number of times lately.

242.6 was used a lot last week when one of the reds couldn't get in to Scampton

Reds are also up for their second practice.

Sorry for the confusion gents!!

Mike

Also, I think 262.7 is not common knowledge due to the activities that seem to occur on it.

If it's not too late for you Waddington is advising R313 is hot, so Reds will be up shortly, not heard them yet.
Unsure if there will be a 2nd slot like yesterday.

Mike

EDIT 243.45 now active 09.35

It was around 1320 yesterday.

Normally, they go up around 2 hours after landing, so they landed around 10am.
To be safe, and if you have time i'd arrive for just before 12, but prepare for a wait.
It's also not guaranteed they will go up again today, as they had two slots yesterday.

Good luck!

Mike

Thanks Mike I'm up here now with a very excited 7 year old who has never seen the red arrows before and has firmly got the "aviation bug" 😂
