Something is up in Scampton now calling 'Hammer' - I know what that callsign is usually for but this sounds like fast jet mask.

Ok now sounds like 'Hanna' - a nod to the late great Ray and Mark?

There was a flight up from Lakenheath earlier using the callsign Hammer according to the thread for today's movements. The Typhoon display was using Anarchy1 as normal.

Yea there was, what ever this was, was using the R313 airspace as was getting traffic call outs from Waddo Radar - I think it was some of the Reds, either a new callsign or my hearing is not what it used to be :Wow:

It wasn't the Typhoon, I heard him depart back to Coningsby around 11.15, this was a good 20 mins later.

Ok so some Reds up from Scampton now and flying in 313, using the normal 243.45/125.35 frequencies but they are not calling Enid/Gypo/Red Arrows.

I'm also certain it's Reds 6-9 as with each command the someone replies '7', and 8 and 9 have just been given a 'roll go' command.
They are about to do the 'hanna pass' 'hanna break' and then cyclone.

Hanna is the new name for the back four as "Gypo" has been deemed no longer appropriate. As you say nice nod to Ray Hanna one of the original Red Arrows team leaders.

Yes, Discodaz, daft and unnecessary. Isn’t it the case that the name Gypo is/was in honour of a former RAF person involved with the team?

Reds are up for their penultimate ISP at Scampton....

Only 1 practice left until they leave.

Sad times.

Red 4 has been up a few times this week on his own, flying over Scampton.

A Synchro callsign is currently up and in 313, it sounds like it's Red 6 and Red 4 (Red 4 was 2021s Red 6) so it appears they are changing the Synchro pilots before the tour out east.

Has Red 7 been the one missing from the recent displays? He was definitely missing when the team arrived at Waddo.

Rumours that today is a mini PDA as a six ship in preparation for the eastern tour, there is a NOTAM out for a practice over Coningsby as well this afternoon.

Understand Red 7 has damaged his leg forcing him to remain out for a while.
