Post by jagmadandy » Mon Aug 15, 2011 10:30 pm

Hi,

Just a heads up RAF Scampton is due to hold its families day next Monday. Does anyone have any details on aircraft participation or when the flying display is due to start/ finish?

Any info greatly appreciated,

Andy :)

Cheers for the info. Apparently team viper are down to display aswell, but not a great list compared to previous years!

Does anyone know what time the displays are due to start?

Andy :)

Ladies and Gents. Before you travel it may be wise to check that this event is to actually go ahead.

After today's tragic events I'm not certain it will.

I find it highly unlikely that the event will now be taking place, given the sad death of Flt Lt Jon Egging this afternoon, and considering that the Hawk T1 aircraft has since been grounded. For the families involved, I doubt a day of entertainment is at the front of their minds.

Just to add the obvious (though maybe not so for everyone). If you do leave flowers etc, do it at a sensible location and not go tying them or leaving them around the perimeter where it could become a FOD Hazard if blown onto the airfield.
