Formula 1 British GP - 2021

Post by James Cutting » Thu Mar 10, 2022 9:09 pm

I know there's a large handful of F1 'fanatics/followers' on here, so hopefully a few of you will appreciate these shots! Last year was my first ever Grand Prix experience, and I have to say it was honestly one of the best ever experience - brilliant thrill! So impressive to see it in the flesh and put it into perspective vs. the TV :O Photographing them was a huge challenge, but enjoyable and rewarding. I am slowly putting this onto Flickr, and will hopefully keep adding more here when done. Enjoy :thumb:

Absolutely cracking set James, it's a long time since I got to a GP so those images are a nice reminder for me.
Are you going back this year?

If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Understandable, I can never really understand why F1 is so expensive here in UK, it seems to be relatively cheap in Europe.. keep smiling ;)

Hi James

they are a stunning set of pictures.

I used to go every year in the UK and I know how hard it was to get a good picture, let alone a whole set. I hope you post some more some time :thumb: :thumb:

Thanks both!

Yes, there was a lot of walking involved to get these shots, most of them were grandstand taken on the Friday/Saturday (roaming ticket helps!) I will try get some up again soon :D

Tickets here are expensive compared with other countries. I believe that the G.P.s in some countries are financially assisted by their Governments, which doesn't happen here.... nor should it IMO.[Would open a can of worms ]!!

That's correct, pretty much all, if not all the others get financial aid from national / local governments. Apart from Monaco which gets it for free I believe - yet still charge the earth last time I looked. A couple of years back I was at Montreal when they announced a new ten year deal. State Government put about 110 million CDN dollars into the kitty.

Brilliant photos, I priced Silverstone up in 2017 for the 2018 season and it worked out pretty much the same price for me to fly to Milan and have a full weekend Monza ticket than it did for a Sunday here! Hopefully this weekend is a decent race again.

Thank you! Yeah, I am not surprised. Monza would be brilliant to go and see. Fingers crossed!

It was brilliant apart from all the Tifosi 😂 Hamilton did end up winning that weekend which made it extra special!
