Flying Scotsman returns to York via Doncaster, 17/03/2025

The Flying Scotsman returned to YNRM via Lincoln & Doncaster this afternoon & i took the chance to catch it at Park drain crossing :-

Nice pics of an iconic piece of engineering.

Out of interest, how much do they have to slow down along the section of rail in your first pic?

HI EF-111 they are usually opening the throttle as its on a slight incline and just after a curve hence the smoke & steam from the stack. I know what you mean looking at the shots.

Must have turned around at Lincoln? Was backwards when came through Spalding
