Range Target Sound Question.

Post by 21zebra » Sat Jul 26, 2014 9:13 pm

Just wondering, two distinct sounds are heard when the aircraft fires at the target, is the first sound the aircraft firing or the bullets hitting the sand ?

Guess what... depends where you are stood (in relation to target and aircraft)

Usually at east coast ranges (if you are (were) in a position to photograph that aircraft firing) then gun first.

interestingly sometimes at Donna with the A-10s you would get three sounds - gun, shells hitting the target then reflection of the gun off the wet sand!

happy days
