How often do?

Post by Unknown74 » Fri May 19, 2023 12:31 pm

Does Tain get many visits from RAF or USAF F-35s? Also how often do Lossie Typhoons or Lakenheath F-15Es visit these days, changed days since Tornado GR.1/ 4, Buccaneer S.2B, Jaguar etc.

Never been so not fully qualified on the subject but it seems Lossie phoons use it often but that's about it. US Bombers have used it in the past when on deployments.
Helicopters occasionally base out of lossie/kinloss and use it for door gunnery practice.
As far as i'm aware no F35's or F15's have used it, they stick with Holbeach and Donna nook it seems

The range is used but not too the extent it was in the eighties I’m only a couple of mile from it in tain itself so catch most stuff on there lossie jets use it regularly normally at medium altitude but sometimes they do carry out gun attacks we regularly get helos from all branches up carrying out gun attacks Jtacs work her regularly and the odd visitor we’ve had b52 f15 and f35 in the past year but there not regular visitors oddest was a p8 from lossie
