Daz, I don't have a photo hosting account so I cannot post pictures; the best I can offer is a link to a tweet on the museum's Twitter timeline, where some photos have been uploaded!

It's quite surprising how familiarity sometime leads you to hold a certain image in your mind!

The next 6 days are best to get some uncluttered views of Vulcan XM594, because early next week scaffolding will be erected at the nose & on the starboard wing to allow the our Painting Teams to move in & carry out some much needed refurbishment work!

More details now in here as well: http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/latest-news

Hi there, I run the Aeroboots for NAM but unfortunately on the Saturday morning I tested positive for Covid, so was unable to stay for the event and I'm not certain how it all went - from what I've heard it was OK.

I also do the write-ups to the museum website, but the lack of Aeroboot feedback meant it was missed out of here!

We have another planned for the autumn and details are in here: http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/2022_Special-Events

Today was the first time I've been back at NAM since before Cockpit-Fest!

Major boost for the Shackleton WR977 Repair project – the new Shackleton jacking adaptors have landed & fit perfectly on the aircraft & onto the jack(s).

These have been manufactured by a local Newark company.

Invoice still to be settled! :halo:

Sorry to report that the trustees have decided to close the museum on Monday & Tuesday next week due to the Red Weather Alert - sorry if this spoils any visit plans that you had in mind!

We are pleased to advise that once again we have been awarded the accolade of Accreditation, which is administered by Arts Council England on behalf of the UK Accreditation Partnership; Accreditation is the benchmark for well-run Museums and Galleries.

Now that the 'Grim Reaper' is imminent at Waddington for the E-3D demolition, are any elements to be secured for the museum.... perhaps the dome from ZH101  or that beautiful fin with 54Sqdn. Anniversary markings ?
This aircraft was a most valued part of UK and Lincolnshire aviation history.

Thanks & best regards

Thanks for raising the topic, but sadly there are no such plans that I'm aware of; plus you have to consider the challenging logistics of how you would display safely the items that you have described.

Below is an extract of a pre-Lockdown email, which also sadly came to nothing:

"......I thought you may be interested to know that there’s the possibility of a cockpit from a E3D Sentry if the museum is interested.

It has been completely stripped, so currently it’s the cockpit and fuselage (no wings) as a shell......"

From what I understand there are very few items likely to be saved from the E-3Ds. Awaits incoming!! :pop:

Happy to advice about the PM Models & Academy aircraft kits that are now in stock in the Museum Shop; we're also just had an Airfix restock!
