A brief update on the Viggen’s spell outside has just been added in here – it seems likely that the Viggen will remain outside until at least the end of this month.

I'm just back from a two week holiday in the USA so I'm not back up to speed yet with current movement plans re this aircraft - all that I know is that it didn't suffer too much in the bad weather earlier this week.

I should know more when I visit tomorrow!

I've just taken a phone call during which I learnt that the Viggen is still outside and as of now there are no plans to move it back inside - as soon as anything is agreed I will advise details of any 'move-in' date.

Following today’s meeting of the museum trustees it has been announced that the Viggen will now remain outside until after 12th October 2013 - full details in here!

We don’t mind at all – the more photographs the merrier!

When we can get things sorted, we have a couple of Viggen related matters to also arrange before it goes back inside – not least getting that skip moved!!

It's a while since I've been to Newark. (Our 2 month old daughter was in her pram when we last came - she starts her second year at university in September!). I may try and wangle a day off in September and pop down to Coningsby for the Saudi aircraft via a visit to this excellent museum that I've sadly neglected.

While the Saab Viggen is displayed outside at Winthorpe we are holding a day/night photo shoot using this and several other museum aircraft (Lightning T5; Jaguar T2A; Meteor NF(T)14) on Saturday 5th October 2013.
