Nice to report that the Desford arrived safely at the museum yesterday and is now in Hangar 2 awaiting its final move to Hangar 1 - shame I wasn’t able to be there!

We are mindful of comments & speculation about our recent acquisition of the R S Desford; our engineers are assessing the airframe & we will soon make a formal statement about our plans for this unique aircraft & the archive of material that’s been transferred to us!

Disappointing news from the museum this morning, as we have been forced to close:

"Continuing problems with the lack of a water supply from the Newark Showground - today it is totally off with no water to our site - so we have had to CLOSE for the day!
Apologies to anyone who has already set off to visit!

Water Update (1700 hours): We have been advised that our water supply should be restored in time for us to re-open to the public on Monday 17th October 2022 at 1000 hours; we once again apologise for any inconvenience cause today!

Lots of chatter on the museum open cockpits WhatsApp Group & Tuesday 25th October looks set to be a bumper day of open cockpits for this Half Term week!

Tomorrow is 1st November & it’s the first day of this season’s winter opening hours – through until the end of February we’re now open each day from 10am - 4pm (last admission 3pm)

Great news just coming in from the museum - Vulcan XM594 is being de-scaffolded after its repair & repaint by the respective volunteer teams at the museum.
