An update has gone on the NAM website about extending the duration of the half-term holiday event, plus some details of the first non-accessed items being disposed of from the stores – only airfield lights! More details in here!

A quick reminder for anyone planning to combine a visit to the Northern Military Expo event on the Showground this coming Sunday (3rd November) with a visit to the museum – from November 1st the museum will be on winter opening hours i.e. 10am until 4pm; with last admission at 3pm.

So plan carefully to avoid disappointment!!

If anyone is travelling to the museum, or is in the local area next weekend an update has been added in here about the Newark Vintage Tractor & Heritage Show, which takes place on the Showground site on Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th November.

As an active participant in Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire’s innovative education programme the museum now has a full listing on their website!

The listing outlines what education activities the museum can offer and it features a range of education resources that teachers can download for free – these supplement the facilitated education activities that are now being regularly delivered at the museum to schools from across Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, South and West Yorkshire.

Details of another road sign issue that may affect people trying to access the museum from the A1 southbound, when they then head north on the A46 towards Lincoln – have been added in here!

Road sign issues sorted, which might have helped the 28 (AC) Squadron Merlin find its way to NAM this morning!

One more sleep until Newark Air Museum re-opens after the Christmas Holiday – 10am Friday 27th December; then open through until Tuesday 31st December, closes at 4pm (last admission 3pm). We hope to see a few of you visiting in the next few days!

It is good to be able to report that at the present time the museum and its exhibits have not been affected by the adverse weather conditions.
