Re: Newark Air Museum News 2020
There's currently lots of chatter on Twitter about the decision from earlier this week that the in-depth Harvard restoration project will eventually see the aircraft returned to the original RCAF markings it wore as FE930.
This will be in honour of the Canadian personnel who trained with 1661HCU at wartime RAF Winthorpe.
The museum is now trying to firm up the details of those wartime markings in Canada.

Look out for the museum on the The Gadget Show this evening; Channel 5 @ 7pm; it was used as a location for an item about Vlogging Tech.
We're not 100% certain of the content but there might be some possible coverage about our Puma rebuild on XW208!

Re: Newark Air Museum News 2020
NAM is in the first week of the local half-term holiday fortnight but it's also monitoring the ever changing Covid situation carefully and assessing what a possible move into Tier 3 might mean for the operation of its site with regards to: being able to open, and still operate the museum café and shop
Perhaps an early visit and some retail therapy might be a good option to any aviation enthusiasts.

We're taking in the news that on Friday Nottinghamshire looks set to move to Tier 3 Covid Regulations - we'll assess what impact (if any) this will have on how we operate at our Gateway Aviation Site.

Re: Newark Air Museum News 2020
Details have just been added to the museum website about how we plan to operate from tomorrow (Friday 30th October 2020) under the Tier 3+ Regulations for Nottinghamshire; it's drastic change but we hope to be able to still generate some income.

Re: Newark Air Museum News 2020
Thanks to those people who visited us today on Day 1 of opening under Tier 3 Regulations across Nottinghamshire i.e. access to external exhibits only at a reduced admission fee.
A special thanks also goes out to the visitors for being so polite & understanding at this challenging time, something that's not always the case!

Re: Newark Air Museum News 2020
I dropped my granddaughter off at the ESSO garage opposite to meet her dad, but told him to show her around. So do I get half a brownie point :-) ?

Re: Newark Air Museum News 2020
Thanks for that update - I cannot remember the last time I went along that section of the A46 (I tend to arrive off the A17 at the Drove Lane route, having travelled through the backroads around Newark) hence my lack of garage i.d.!
I am pleased that they had a good visit, despite these challenging times - 2 days left open until Lockdown!
