I don't have a problem; sadly I won't have the time to curate a similar listing on the museum website this time round - too many other items to get sorted our ready for a week tomorrow!

Hi NAM Updater

Just wanted to express my full appreciation and a big thank you for all the hard work put in by the NAM Team in organising and running the Aeroboot Sale yesterday.

Due to the weather forecast it wasn't looking great for the day but fortunately the weather held off long enough for the sellers and buyers.

Opening the gates early for the buyers was in my opinion a great and much appreciated decision by the NAM Team as this enabled both the public to grab a bargain an the sellers to make some sales before the rains came.

I have to say I was impressed by both the publics turn out on the day and the sellers
pitching up... It all came together in the end to make it another great event.

My thanks go out also to all my regular visitors to the stall and to the new ones that came to have a look and a chat.

Ian and Mandy...always great to see you guys, hope the tea tastes great in that mug.

Jagmadandy... Nice to see and chat with you again.

Hunter49... always a pleasure sir... that picture of the US Harriers and horses sound great.

Aggressor 65... brilliant to meet you on the day for the first time... enjoyed our chat and many thanks for buying the patches... hope they look good in the collection.

To Nick... Great to meet you today... many thanks for getting in touch ref the Air Power Journals... my apologies for not having more available for you.

If I find anymore I will be in touch.

A great event... looking forward now to the next one.

Stay safe and well everyone.

Regards.

Thank you T1 for the various bits of feedback, which I will share with everyone at the museum who was involved with organising/running the event.

A post-event evaluation will take place prior to reaching the final decision about running another Aeroboot alongside Cockpit-Fest 21 in late August. This process will also be informed by any announcements from HMG later today.

I had planned to bring round a note to that effect on Saturday, but this was disrupted by my own 36 hours in isolation on Weds/Thurs last week pending my son’s Covid-PCR test result.

If a positive decision is made to run another alongside Cockpit-Fest 21 the stallholders from Saturday will get the first opportunity to rebook.

Start 'em young is a strategy that we thoroughly recommend; have they progressed to Airfix Quick-Builds or beyond yet? Asking for the Museum Shop!!

Hi Howard

No mention of the Jaguar (hanagr 1)

Is this being kept tucked away for a reason?

The Jaguar cockpit from XX753 is owned by the museum and we don't 'enter' it into Cockpit-Fest where prizes are awarded for the best cockpit. The other four that are listed on the Cockpit-Fest page are all on loan to the museum and their owners sometimes choose to enter them into the competition.

At the moment all of the aircraft & cockpits owned by the museum are off limits so that we can meet our Covid-Secure obligations as detailed in here http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/NAM_open_cockpits

Hopefully that may change when the new Step 4 Regulations are announced next week. We will then review our open-cockpits policy.

I am aware that the F-4 cockpit was open last Saturday as part of the Groundcrew Boys book launch, but that access was undertaken by the owner and not museum volunteers.
