Newark Air Museum News 2021
It’s time to start a 2021 Newark Air Museum News thread, through which I will endeavour to keep people advised of the day to day activities at NAM.
Again on behalf of everyone at Newark Air Museum I would just like to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who visited in 2020 and supported the museum during a challenging year.
Details will continue to be added both here and to the – Latest News Page on the NAM website.
Happy New Year everyone and a final reminder for now, NAM is closed currently due to Tier 4 Regulations.

Re: Newark Air Museum News 2021
Any model makers amongst you may have seen that the new box art for the Airfix Vulcan features XM594 that we display at Newark; the aircraft being on loan from the Lincolnshire’s Lancaster Association.
For us this is a long anticipated release, after we provided access for the Airfix team to scan and photograph the aircraft back in spring 2019.
We are now looking forward to getting the kits into stock in the Museum Shop and then being able to sell them! Delivery is down on the order forms for March 2021, when we should have them in stock. However, that could still change. Pre-orders can be taken!

Re: Newark Air Museum News 2021
Lots of tweets and emails arriving at the museum's accounts regarding the availability of some V-bomber cockpits - sorry, not on our radar folks!
We had some limited dialogue with the owner late last summer after they had been featured in FlyPast magazine. At that time it became apparent very quickly that the price expectations were beyond the museum's means, even without the effects of the lockdown restrictions on the museum's income.

Re: Newark Air Museum News 2021
There has been some interest expressed in possible Mail Order sales from the Museum Shop, so we’ll be taking telephone enquiries on 01636 707170 from 09.45 to 11.45am on Saturday 30th January 2021 – for models, die-casts & aviation books.

Re: Newark Air Museum News 2021
What were you looking for in particular?
Pre-Christmas we had some photo sheets by brand e.g. Airfix, Revell etc. that were used on a Click & Collect basis - if you PM an email address I can send you copies, but they may not be fully up to date/correct after the year end stock take has been completed.
It's a bit last minute for this, but we're covering some known enquiries tomorrow morning so thought it might be worthwhile flagging it up.
I hope that this makes sense.

Re: Newark Air Museum News 2021
That is positive reading Howard.
I look forward to be able to make the short trip down the A46 again, I've missed the place!!
Fingers crossed the dates of rule relaxation remain.
All the best,
Mike

Re: Newark Air Museum News 2021
Thanks for that Mike and broadly speaking it is positive; that said a lot of detail is still lacking and that won't become available until mid-March.
Last week some time was spent seeking clarification via AIM from the DCMS to see whether a museum site qualified as being an 'outside attraction'' thankfully that issue has now been resolved.
We now look forward to being able to welcome museum members and visitors back onto the site!

Re: Newark Air Museum News 2021
Delayed for the time being I'm afraid.
Something that's on the To Do List once we can get back on site at Newark and open up again.
