Anyone fancy updating the copyright to 2017. Same happened last year.

I do not understand the question even though I have no authority to action the request.

Or, in plain English, wot r you on about? :S

I'm so glad that I had retired before Rich ? Introduced me to this forum. I would never have got any work done!

As you say this is a request for a moderator or above to action, they should understand the situation. Look at the foot of the page and you will see that the copyright for this forum currently shows as 2009 - 2016, it has therefore expired and needs updating.

Plain English only please.

Well spotted & thank you for your explanation. I doubt that many others using the site had noticed

Any chance of this being updated for 2018. Someone needs to put a reminder in their diary to update this every year.

Or just use the PHP date function so it does it automatically

Maybe festive celebrations and family time are more important than a website date

Adam updated it yesterday evening for 2020, it should automatically update itself every year from now on.

It's now showing as 2018 again!

I've emailed Adam to ask him to update both CA & FC to 2021, both are showing as 2018 at present!

Yes Chris, but it depends on the level of Admin that one has been given by the Aeroresource hierarchy - there seems to be 4 of these levels and none of the current active Admins on FC or CA have been given the permissions to change certain things. Only Adam D and Mike B seem to have the permissions to do it!

Mike is right, how the whole thing is set up we can only do certain things. I can't even change the forum skin, so expect it to be Xmas for a while.

The copyright date for CA was corrected to 2021 a couple of days after I emailed Adam, but FC's still shows as 2018. I did ask him to update both though, but he never replied to my emails - so I don't know if he actually did anything, or if it updated itself!

FC needs some serious maintenance done by those that have the tools to do it. The main problem is the terrible lag between hitting the 'Submit' button after posting something and it actually appearing on the forum, this causes duplicates of posts (and threads) when members hit the button again when they think it hasn't gone through the first time. Sometimes this lag can be as long as 20 seconds, this was fixed about 3 years ago when it first happened but has been going on again for the last few months.
The 2nd problem is the Christmas logo still appearing and the 3rd is the copyright being incorrect.

Yep, unfortunately neither me or Gary have the permissions to change either the copyright or the Christmas theme on the forum - let alone anything more technical than that. Guess we'll all just have to wait and see. :pop:

Yes I know that, if you or Gary have contacted Adam and haven't had a reply then drop me a PM and I'll give you Mike B's email address. Both he & Adam can fix these things, all you have to do is ask them.

Strange point is that if one clicks on the forum - NOT the sub-forum - title, the Xmas decoration has disappeared and the copyright shows 2021.

It looks like this is true only for the 1st two forums, i.e. "Fighter Control Information" and "Fighter Control Community"

Each section ie "Fighter Control Information" and "Fighter Control Community" etc can be changed individually, looks like they have been changed from default to standard theme. it's annoying and long winded way of doing it. The main page can't be changed unless you are the chosen one(s). The main page changes the whole forum or would if the default option is selected

Steven and myself can add sections, new users and minor changes.
