Hi Guys!!

I am hapy to report that after a long time on BETA, MSPG Simulations have released our 'castle Martin Range Scenery for FSX :thumb:

It is designed to be used with Photo tiles and includes custom made buildings, placed autogen and more! This also can be used without the phototiles, as we have included a Exclude file, however we recommend using the scenery with tiles to get the best effect :)

Also as an optional download, you can download a KML file for Google Earth, this showing the area which is covered in this release.

Much to follow soon, including Afghan FoB's being released this afternoon and also RAF Cottesmore which will be released by the end of this week.

Regards,

Matt

Hi Guys,

Here to inform you of another long awaited release by MSPG Simulations.

Afghanistan Scenery Version 0.1, releasing the 4 main FoB's in Helmand Province.

These are located at Gereshk, FoB Jackson (Sangin), Laskar Gah and the Musa Qala DC. Custom Building have been put together for this project by our scenery design team, but also we have used scenery from the MCDMil Scenery libary (Download seperate). The next release will focus on Kandahar Airfield, then Camp Bastion, and finally looking at villages and town in the Afghan countryside.

Please note, the FoB designs are FINCTIONAL. This is due to the current on going operations over in theatre and information released to the public.

Pictures can be found on our website and download link :)

Hi Guys,

Im back again with yet another MSPG Simulatiion release, RAF Cottesmore for FSX!

This has been a big project to do for me myself, as a huge fan of the Harrier, especially with seeing them in action at RAF Cottesmore.

The scenery is set as off Mid 2010, just after 4(AC) Sqn stood down and moved to RAF Wittering, standing up as 4(R) Sqn Harrier OCU, taking over from 20 (R) Sqn. JFH, now building upon skills that hadn't been used as much while involved with Op Herrick in Afghanistan. The scenery is made using a mix of custom buildings and freeware libaries. Also included are a few keen photographers at R22 end, watching the action!

Hope you enjoy this airfield and our first MSPG Airfield release!

Just thought I'd report back that your first release of the Afghan package works brilliantly on FS9 too...BUT the hesco's/perimeter walls of the FOB's are missing. Do you know which file it is and where it is placed?

Hi Guys,

Just thought i'd post up saying that we have updated HMS Ocean, as we had reports of holes in the deck :o! These have now been fixed and also we have added a version that can be used with AIcarriers program :)

With regards to FS9 and our scenery in it, the team does not have a copy of FS9 between us, and I doubt this change with the work we are doing at the moment, so that the time being we can only design and put stuff into FSX.

You had the same problem i had when i first made the deck hard... i found that you even have to make the "painted lines" hard and do not forget the central runway part, everything needs to be hard on that flat surface.
Your original or any other variant should work fine in aicarriers2, you just need to code the text file in aicarriers to accept your ship.
I did the same with mine, aicarriers2 compliant along with static BGLs to put anywhere along the coast. I did try and make some waypoints it could follow using Google Earth but failed miserably.

Morning All!

After a rather slow few months at the moment, with most of the team having new jobs/ more hours etc, we havn't been about as much as we would of liked!!

Project wise, we are continuing with the Afghanistan pack, with the 2nd part being Kandahar Airfield. Alos, in the works, is the New QE Class Aircraft Carriers for the Royal Navy. However, sadly we have ran into problems with this,
as fast jets are not liking the ramp! This will hopefully be fixed soon.

However, we are already looking for another scenery project for the UK... Have you a peice of scenery that you would like in the UK, exercise area, airfield etc, post your thoughts here or contact us via message here or on our website :)

Thats all for now folks, keep tuned in for more update :thumb:

Matt,
What is the problem with the ramp? Are they going straight through it? If so, i can help. Keep up with the Afghan project... haven't tried the Pack 1 yet but would be nice to fly some Afghan stuff.
I made an Afghan compound the other day for something to do.... and a Patrol Base converted from the compound.

Hi Rich,

The problem is a strange one. The ramp and the rest of the deck is hard, and I can taxi up the ramp to the end and back down, However, When I try to take off from the deck, the aircraft goes straight through. We think it could be the angel of the ramp, but not too sure. Afghanistan wise it is progressing well, hadn't done the whole camp as such, but have doen alot of it. It should hopefully be done soon :) The UK project idea is somethign to work on, on the side of afghanistan, as its nice to be able to do other work and have a break from the afghan stuff.

Hmm, i haven't come across that problem before i'm afraid.... though the angles i have hardened previously have been 'flat surfaces' and not 'curved surfaces'. So it could be the curvature which is the problem. Have you tried different settings in the platform tool for instance, try 0.1000?

Here is a quick compound converted to British Patrol Base (PB) which can be placed in any village. Defensive positions with sand bags, ISO containers for storage of food/drink and one for hiding in when under mortar attack. Hescos around the ISO's for protection purposes.
Have Desert DPM tarpaulins for sun shades by the main block house and by the fire and over the defensive towers.
I did have razor wire over the main gate which took me friggin ages but forgot that once converted to Collada and lines are not represented and so doesn't show in the converted model for FSX unfortunately. I'm not making anymore, it takes ages and i would need to make the wire as "tubes" and not lines.

Once finished you can have it if you want, either in Collada or a finished BGL to use in the scenery, or no worries if not. It was just a little easy/one nighter project as i was bored.

I also have a larger compound which has enough room to land a Merlin or Chinook inside the walls. It is WIP.

Yer, I may have to remake the ramp on QE to fix it, but it depends how long it will take me to do.

That PB looks great mate, I have completed 4 FoB's, simple ones which are released with pack v0.1. Version 2 will be Kandahar, with version 3 looking at doing towns, villages etc. Its going to be a long process, but we will only be doing the British area of responsibility in Helmand itself, not the whole of Afghanistan. If you wouldn't mind, the PB would helps us, however, at present we are focusing on KAF.

Our next airfield project looks like it maybe RAF Lossiemouth, but that is one of a few idea we have at the moment.

Yep, doing the American or any other nations AOR would be a huge project.
Don't forget frame rates though, something i keep forgetting about when doing all these objects. When i did a FIBUA village combined with loads of PB's and a FOB, my FPS went down to sillyness. Smoke effects (green and red) made it unworkable (but then i also added gun sounds and even when flying over a particular area, ricochet sounds against the Helicopter (set as a trigger).

How did Bastion get on? On the BBC News yesterday it now states Bastion, combined with the USMC and Afghan sectors is now the size of READING!
It's just a shame no one can produce Afghanistan freeware photorealistic scenery for Helmand... i approached Bluesky Sceneries but they were not interested.

Yes, we have been careful to watch how the frames are when in the sim :) We had alot more detail in the Castle Martin scenery, but we had to remove it in the end as it was a slide show :'(

Too be honest, I havn't seen the updated Camp Bastion, but the person who is doing that has been snowed under with etc. Camp Bastion shall b doen at some point, but I doubt it will be the same size it is today, as it would kill frames!

Bastion is quite simply... way to much of a project. I did start it but gave up after i did the runways, pegasus and so on. To do the 'town' itself would be FPS silly.
Will give your FOBs a swirl soon, kind of lost interest flying in the UK, so flying around other places.

Okay Rich, sounds good mate :) I know what you mean about Bastion! Its is just too big tbh for FSX. The system I doubt would be able to hack it unless you have a super PC, which myself and alot of people dont :'( Ive got today and tomorrow free, so I will be doing as much work as I can on it, as im tired of tired to get my repaints for ArmA2 to work aha :D

Ill try and post some preview shots as I do more.. The one thing mind, on the sat image I have of KAF, there are large buildings inside the camp, which I think are warehouses. Trouble is I havn't found any pictures of them, so I cant model them properly. Its mainly how high the things are really..

Hi Guys!

Mach Loop Spotters scenery version 1.1 for FSX is now released!

This is a update to the popular LFA 7 low level route in Mid Wales, now adding more camera positions and spotters to the welsh valleys.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y52rKbWnccw

Out now :) And this should work with Orbix Wales as well, just make sure its above the Orbix files in the FSX Addons libary.
