This is very sad and inexcusable but unfortunately it's a sign of the times, there are numerous incidents just like this going on all over the country and mostly to feed the scrap metal trade.
Some guys came round knocking on my door the other week looking for scrap metal from my kitchen renovations and had literally taken anything they could before I had a chance to open the door! As they loaded the few bits I had I saw that in the back of their van there were at least 20 push bikes all looked to be in good condition and were undoubtedly stolen. These vermine see any metal of any description, be it bikes (locked or unlocked), lead flashing on church roofs or memorials to our fallen hero's as fair game. I totally agree with you that they should be locked in a hangar with some army boys but as for being given the chance to explain their actions I disagree, they should be seen as fair game to the soldiers and used for target practice. B s!

I'm for the "arranging a meeting" idea too.

Unfortunately, if they get caught, it will be a "don't do it again", £50 fine and that's it probably.

There is no respect in this country anymore. Its almost to the point where its shameful to admit to being British . .
