It appears that Chinook ZH898 is airborne out of Middle Wallop using old Tucano ZF511’s Mode-S code 43C5C5.
ZH898 is programmed into the callsign field.
First test flight after deep maintenance?

43C5C5 is OCTAL 20 742 705
43C5F5 is OCTAL 20 742 765
It is easy to see how a poorly scribbled down 6 could be mistaken for, and inputted as a 0, so then "displaying" as in "incorrect" HEX code on ADSB.

Currently in the Benson circuit and definitely a Chinook (according to Mk 1 eyeballs!).

The Hex code is put into the control unit, as part of the fitment process the Mode S code is supposed to be input for that particular aircraft. Octal codes are not used to input any Hex code
