Just to confirm as far as I am aware everything was done correctly. As I said the bank cashier did the transaction for me in my bank using my debit card. I watched what she did quoting the reference "SPOTTER surname" and the name and address of the recipient and IBAN number were checked. It seems that they underestimated the popularity of the event. At least I didn't waste money on the airfare and hotel accommodation. No Greeks or Turks or Poles anyway.

Just to clarify I have not heard anything subsequent to payment and nor would I expect to.

From memory, the email requesting payment included your car pass and effectively is them saying you have been successful and all you needed to do now is pay and print off the pass.

Not trying to patronize anybody but have you checked the attachments of the email asking for payment ?

I sent them an email last week: spottersday.ntm2019@gmail.com to request confirmation that they had received my payment and I was good to attend.

Email received back from them this morning confirming payment received and all in order.

So it may be worth doing the same to remove any doubt.

Regards
John

I paid for my ticket by the advertised bank transfer over a month ago , and to date have not heard anything back from the NTM team with any kind of communication
Just wondering how many more are in the same boat
I would like some from of communication , just so that I can book the flights and car otherwise if left until the last minute flights are going to be hard to arrange.
Same here, mate. I sent my payment via TransferWise at the beginning of March but they have sent me two emails requesting my payment. I emailed them my transfer invoice but didn’t hear from them. The organiser sucks.

I did what John suggested and it seems they may register you twice.

I drop them an email with my transferwise payment confirmation and they camelback to me saying we registered you twice. They have confirmed the safe receipt of my payment and my place on the day.

Confirmations are flooding out now with the rest of my group from all over the world receiving emails. Those in doubt, I wouldn't worry.

Tuesday 7 May

Just had the final instructions email from the Tiger Team :-

Access at 07:00L
First launch 10;00L
Second launch 3PM
Final recovery 5PM

Parking on base
Pedestrian access

There will be Credit Card payment facilities for accepted people with payment transfer rejections
(;They sound sincerely sorry for any payment headaches)

Some "Aeronautical Surprises " on the spotters day

Sounds like it could be an exceptional day as mentioned in the email

Apologies if this is not the appropriate place to ask these questions, but I have never been to an NTM before, so am unsure how it works.

Their email mentions taking stepladders. Are ladders essential? i.e. will there be a fence in front of us preventing photos without a ladder?

What sort of focal length lenses are most appropriate? Are we close enough that a wide angle is useful? Or so far away that we need a 500mm ? Or is a 70-200 suitable for everything?

As I will be going by foot, I can't just take everything just in case.

Thanks for your patience with an "NTM Newbie" :-)

Antony

You won't need a step ladder

If you do have a step ladder there is a forward line that they can't be in front of

You might need a pair of running shoes to get the best spot :)

I'll be taking a ladder, no need to run to get the best spot and I'll have a bit of elbow room to take photos. With 2-3000 spotters it has the makings of being a bit of a scrum at the front.

3000 spotters? Sure its limited to 1500?

I'm sure I saw it was a 3k limit, but of course now I can't find any reference to that figure!

It's the way I tell 'em

Looking forward to see what the " aeronautical surprises" are. Hoping there are plenty of local Rafales involved.
