No it’s a free event You will have to pay for bus and chair lift if you take it though

Despite reading somewhere that tickets for this year would not go on sale till the start of October, they are in fact available now from the Ticketino website. If you want to pay in Pounds sterling, don't take the option on the website, as the conversion rate is far from generous. Let your card payer do the job, so pay in CHF.

If going to Axalp make sure you are covered by travel insurance to climb mountains. I know someone had a mishap up there. It cost him a lot of money just to get down to the valley.
