Big question...Is it worth the dick of re-booking everything when the likelihood is that it could well NOT happen then either? It bothers me that Monday 6th July through Friday 17th would more likely be the 'normal' format? :O

Just received from NTM:

Dear Spotter,

Considering the most recent epidemiological evolution COVID-19 and the projection that it may remain active until end of May - the Portuguese Air Force has decided to postpone the NTM20 to July time-frame.

The new dates for NTM20 will be from 05JUL20 to 17JUL20.

With this decision we are only postponing the event dates, all activities that were planned will be activated on the same days of the week. Therefore, the new dates for the most important events will be:

- Air Festival will be held on 12JUL20.

- The two days of Spotters will be, respectively, 09JUL20 and 15JUL20.

Regarding the two Spotters days:

- The registrations made so far are considered valid.

- Registrations made for the 14th of May will be carryover the 09th of July and for the 20th of May to the 15th of July, respectively.

- To request changes or cancellations of registration already validated, an email should be sent to ntm20_spotter@emfa.pt.

- The Portuguese Air Force is concerned with the impact and implications of this decision (e.g. acquisition of airline tickets), but given the current situation, we appeal to Spotter’s understanding.

The Portuguese Air Force will continue resisting without giving up, the scourge COVID-19.

Stay firm with us, protect yourself and your family

Your Spotter Team

I wasn't guessing. I had read the website before you posted. My comment regarding dates alludes to the fact that the flying phase 'normally' commences on a Monday (in this case 6th July) & the majority of participants & their transports depart on a Friday (17th). I have no wish to be at the fence on Sunday 5th to watch a distant Briefing & Ground School! :pop:

Yes I have just received an email saying (perhaps, optimistically) that the registrations are transferred to next year subject to sending a confirmation email.

Fingers crossed!

Luckily for me I tend to to book very late , usually when I have some idea of what is attending so I hadn't booked for either Frisian Flag of NTM etc. I am getting a bit bored , even a drive down to Mildenhall doesn't seem that appealing!

I assume the Bastille Day flypast will happen? Probably best to to wait one more year before going although driving in July should be ok but it is the crowds in central Paris and the train that could be an issue

Just had an email confirming I am 'valid' for 12 May 2021 - bring it on cannot wait.

2021 is a big year for the Tiger association - I think someone at Lakenheath the other day mentioned that there might be two meetings in 2021, one in Belgium?

If your scroll back a bit on this thread (April 23rd) by Al Dunn… the link says there will be a meet in Portugal in May 2021 and another at Kleine Brogel in September 2021….

The NATO Tiger Meet (NTM) 2021 will be held at Air Base (BA) 11, in Beja, between 2 and 14 May. Some of the activities will be canceled in the face of the pandemic.

This will be the third time that Air Force Base 11 will receive the NTM, where military and squadron aircraft will be present, coming from several countries that are part of that military structure.

According to Lidador Notícias (LN), some activities that usually take place during the Tiger Meet will not take place due to the covid-19 pandemic, such as the air festival, static aircraft exhibition and sportters day and the traditional Open Base day.
