It is unknown whether there will be a Danish Air Show in 2025.

Update: After TV2 Nord spoke to Aalborg Air Base earlier today and was told that the Danish Air Show 2025 had been cancelled, Aalborg Air Station has contacted TV2 Nord and found that a final decision has still not been made.

The Danish Air Show has previously created traffic chaos, attracted royalty and entertained thousands of visitors with displays and tricks from various planes and helicopters.

The Danish Air Show was actually supposed to be held this year, but at the 11th hour, the Armed Forces chose to cancel the big event due to lack of money.

On Friday, Aalborg Air Station told TV2 Nord that the Danish Air Show 2025 had been cancelled, but whether there will be a Danish Air Show in 2025 is still unknown, the air station now states.

- It is strongly in our consideration to cancel, but the final decision will be made next week, says press officer from Aalborg Air Station, Morten Valentin.

Danish Air Show 15. June 2025 is cancelled as a result of an increased priority need for the operational task solution.

The Air Force is in a rebuilding situation with the implementation of new and upgrading of existing capacities. At the same time, we find ourselves in a volatile security policy period that constantly challenges and demands to adjust, adapt and prioritize in order to meet our national and international obligations. In light of that picture, we have been forced to cancel the Danish Air Show 2025, which was supposed to be held in Aalborg on the 15th. June 2025.

This is a day we know many have been looking forward to - not least ourselves. A day, when employees from across the Armed Forces proudly give the people insight into the Armed Forces wide range of tasks and the many job- and training opportunities. It's a sad but necessary decision.

Currently, no decision has been made whether the Danish Air Show 2026 will be held.

Another one bites the dust! The number of airshows successfully returning after a year or more of cancellation is extremely low (Covid aside!) IMO.

Many events state a specific reason for not happening, but invariably finance & apathy feature highly in the lack of resuming such events?
The basic reason for postponing the 2024 show was stated as being the 'sudden realisation' that 2025 was an Anniversary Year! Yeah, really?

European air forces are realising the cost of operating F-35 and slashing non-essential expenditure. Add that to the Green lobby and it's unlikely we'll see them return.
