ILA Berlin 2010 - 100th year.

Post by Dunk » Thu Dec 31, 2009 3:41 pm

100 years of the Berlin airshow will be celebrated in 2010 at Berlin-Schoenefeld Airport.

Having been to the last 2 events, I can highly recommend it. slightly frustrating at times, but a good mix of aircraft and the mass flypast/demo from the German Forces is worth every penny.

You can fly with Easyjet direct to the Airport on a day trip IIRC, with free buses to the showground provided. 2 years ago flights were under £70 return inc taxes, and 3 days before the show, Easyjet had a sale on, and had them for under £40 inc taxes!!

Hey Dunk. As a newcomer to mainland Europe airshows this sounds really good. Any idea what weekend this will be held? Rob

Decided to cancel going for this show now.....nh90's are grounded, same with the eurocopter tigers, a400m isnt flying on the day we can attend, nore are the pat suisse, the GAF role demo, etc etc. An 18 hour day trip to see 2 x gripens flying and a cramped static isnt my idea of fun..... :grr:

Ok so the mass flypast of german types didn't happen but I really enjoyed the show was very well organised, no queing for food (which wasn't expensive) or toilets they even had chairs along (set back) crowd line, I'd leave my partner sat there while I nipped to front to take pics, crowd line wasn't busy and there was some cracking items in flying display I thought and in static, my first visit and I was impressed great German beer too :thumb: , only one problem EASYJET THERE S*&@! :grr:
