all i can say is , that you should not have been in that field.
it was clearly marked at every possible entrance to it.
I have seen this posted on many social media sites and prior to the event it is what I thought to be the case, albeit I am not familiar with the Marham airfield. However I have seen photographs from RAF photographers and also 'professional' photographers that appear to have been taken from a similar area. Were there military and 'professional photographers inside the fence line at that end of the runway or were they also in an area that had been clearly marked as out of bounds? I am just curious to find out if those in the know regarding the elephant walk could not resist the opportunity
The entrance that i went in had absolutely no signs of any kind of sign saying no entrance in.
That's because some photographers had torn them down and thrown them away. The publicity on forums and social media regarding no access to these fields was widespread and hard to miss in my opinion.
To answer another poster, at least one official photographer was inside the perimeter on a cherry picker for shots of the "elephant walk."

There was ALWAYS only one place to shoot the line-up from & you made a good job of it, the last shot being the best! :thumb:
Even with the car-parking field coated in fresh dung to deter interlopers, some (many!) people did 3-point turns & drove way out round the rope-barrier right over the crop without any consideration whatsoever! :grr:
Regard for other peoples property is quite often missing in many interests, but in ours....most people carry cameras! ;) If you stayed off the planted/to be planted areas, then there is no real issue IMO. If the light had been better I would've joined you. :halo:

Yep, so when he closes the fields off completely for the 14th we all know who caused it.

Oh! You mean when runway 24/06 is open & in use again & the single Tornado flies in a symbolic flypast. Can't really imagine those fields will be so populated ever again? ;)

Rights or wrongs aside, that comment about sums it up. There isn't any reason for anyone to go near to RAF Marham with a camera ever again.

Even in the broader sense of UK military aviation photography as a hobby; would the last person out of the farmers field please switch out the lights?
